Java Developer

Location: Detroit

i33 is seeking a Detroit-based java developer to add to our growing technology team. As a java developer, this person will be responsible for developing and testing web based applications using JAVA, J2EE and varying scripting languages (Javascript, Velocity, TCL, JSP).

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and develop application components utilizing Java
Design and implement database components for use by application systems
Design and develop web user interfaces which utilize back-end application components and database structures
Contribute to overall application architecture and design

Required Skills and Background:

2–4 years experience with server side Java and other Object Oriented Development techniques
Web/E-Commerce experience a plus
Experience and familiarity with XP or other iterative development practices a plus
Experience with analysis tools and techniques, such as Rational Unified Process, a plus
Strong working experience with Java Programming and JDBC
Knowledge of SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Strong understanding of Java Servlets, EJBs and JSPs
Experience working with Solaris/Unix and Linux environments
Object-oriented software design skills
Must be an effective communicator, highly motivate, enthusiastic and be able to work autonomously

Required Education:

Minimum of BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
